Altar Inspiration

When I posted about needing to find inspiration to redecorate my altar yesterday, I never realized that I would find some at my school.

The Latino/Chicana Association decided to decorate 5 altars in honor of Dia de los Muertos (or Day of the Dead). On display, were not only the alters themselves but poster boards with a lot of information about the day, the traditions and the meanings of the different items. I spent a lot of time looking over the posters, looking at the items on the table and then took some pictures.

I will post more about the day, the traditions and the meanings tomorrow.

It is great to find inspiration in places that you didn't think you would. What caught my eye was the abundant use of bright colors. I love the colors!

Autumn - The vases (there were three) were what I noticed first. :)

These are not pictures of my altar. It is something that I found at my university in the multicultural center when I walked through.

Sure, go ahead and link to me. :)

As typically Mexican as these are, there is someting about them that reminds me of India.

Thanks for sharing them. And sorry for being so nitpicky.

Deborah - I think that it might be the colors.

No problem. Thanks for pointing out the spelling errors. I really wasn't paying attention when I was spellchecking and it was good that you brought it to my attention.
