A Thank You

You may have noticed that I have a new header, not the standard blogger template header and I want to take the opportunity to give recognition to the person that made it all happen.

I contacted Andy to ask him a few questions about his blog, as he has customized the look of his blog. I told him what I wanted to do and asked him if he could explain how to do it. Instead, he told me that if I sent him a few pictures and told him what I was looking for, he would put something together for me. He was willing to help me; Someone he didn't know except from a few recent emails.

After a few days, I got a email with a few different choices and Andy asked me if there were any changes that were needed. I had him switch a few things around, and then gave him the okay to put up the new header.

I must say that I am stunned with how the final graphic turned out. It couldn't have turned out any better.

A little background on the pictures - The four main pictures were taken by me while hiking the Appalachian Trail and are a reminder of the 5 1/2 months I lived in the great outdoors. The background was from a picture that Andy took that has a deep, personal meaning for him and I am honored that he chose to use it to tie the other photos together. From left to right, the pictures are:

1. Footprints on a rock after fording a river in the Hundred Mile Wilderness in Maine. The HMW is the last 100 miles of the trail. For the first time, I could see my ending point on in the horizon.

2. Mountain Laurel in Southern Virginia. These flowers were lining the trail for miles. It was like walking through a pink and white tunnel.

3. A waterfall with a strong current near Hampton, TN. We were able to "body surf" the current and spent a couple of hours swimming and hanging out just off the trail.

4. Dragon's Tooth in Virginia. I sat up on the top for a few hours, soaking in the sun and meditating/praying. I could see for miles around. One of my favorite days on the trail.

Thank you, Andy. You did a wonderful job at putting the graphic together and I appreciate the work you have put into it.
